Shia LaBeouf dropped acid while working on “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” but it wasn’t because he “wanted to be on drugs.”
The film — which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival — tells the story of a young man (LaBeouf) who heads to Romania after the death of his mother (Melissa Leo) and subsequently falls for a dangerous young woman (Evan Rachel Wood). During one sequence, LaBeouf’s character takes hallucinogenic drug, which is what prompted the star to try it himself.Ive never done acid before….

* Chinese manufacturing grows for first time in 13 months
* Supply concerns ease on Israel, Hamas truce, doubts remain
* Euro zone economy outlook darkens, but some feared worse
(Recasts, updates prices)
NEW YORK, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Oil dipped in moribund trade on
Thursday, as a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip eased supply concerns
and gloomy manufacturing data for Europe tempered upbeat figures
from China.
With U.S. financial markets shut for Thanksgiving, thin
conditions left oil prices adrift through the day.
Some dealers questioned whether the ceasefire late on
Wednesday that ended eight days of conflict between Israel and
Hamas would last; others found reason for hope in data showing
China's manufacturing sector saw expansion accelerate in
November for the first time in 13 months.
London Brent crude oil futures for January delivery
slipped 31 cents or 0.3 percent to settle at $110.55 a barrel,
off an intra-day high of $111.17. Some 50,000 lots changed
hands, less than one-fifth as much as usual as most U.S.
financial markets were shut for the Thanksgiving holiday.
U.S. crude was down 23 cents at $87.15 a barrel at
1.30 p.m. EST (1815 GMT), with only 17,000 lots trading. The
U.S. market will not issue a formal settlement until Friday.
The Gaza ceasefire brokered by Egypt held firm on Thursday,
but both sides said their fingers were still on the trigger.
Schools remained closed in southern Israel.
"I think it will last...but it seems as if the market is
pretty sceptical," said Thorbjørn Bak Jensen, an analyst at A/S
Global Risk Management.
The holiday temporarily deflected attention from talks on
the U.S. "fiscal cliff" - $600 billion worth of tax increases
and spending cuts set to begin in 2013 unless agreement is
reached on the budget deficit.
Investors fear the measures could derail the U.S. economic
recovery, and the focus is likely to return to the talks after
the holidays.
"Quiet Thanksgiving day... keeping one eye on the Middle
East, and the other on the U.S. fiscal cliff," said Tony
Machacek, a broker at Jefferies Bache in London.
DATA SPLIT
A day after the United States reported that manufacturing
grew in November at its quickest pace in five months, data from
other major economies offered a split view.
The China HSBC Flash Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index
(PMI) rose to a 13-month high of 50.4 in November, the latest
indicator of recovery in the real economy after data showing
solid credit growth, firmer exports and rising industrial output
in the previous month.
The outlook for Europe in contrast was far bleaker, with
business surveys showing on Thursday the euro zone economy on
course for the worst quarter since early 2009.
"Yes, there is bad data out of Europe, ... but Europe is
basically priced in. The market is increasingly optimistic just
looking at how equities are performing, good news out of China,
it's all very constructive," said Seth Kleinman, global head of
energy strategy at Citi.

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie said today that Hurricane Sandy caused $29.4 billion in damages to New Jersey but cautioned the estimate would probably rise once next summer’s tourism season, populations shifts and the effect on real estate values were taken into consideration.
It was the first hard figure put out by the administration since the storm barreled through the state less than a month ago, killing 39 people, cutting power to 2.7 million homes and businesses and flattening shore communities.
“I will spare no effort and waste no time to rebuild and restore our tourism industry, our transportation and utilities infrastructure and the lives of our citizens for the long term, Christie said in a statement accompanying the estimate.
In presenting his preliminary request for the federal aid, Christie did not provide a breakdown of how the money would be allotted among the homes and business that must be restored or replaced, commuter rail lines and highways that have to be repaired or overtime costs for police, fire and emergency personnel.
In additional to the destruction caused in New Jersey, Sandy — the largest storm in the state’s modern history — left a staggering amount of damage in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia as it churned up the Atlantic Coast.
Christie’s request will pose a challenge to President Obama, who toured the state in the days after the storm and vowed to do all he could to help in the state’s recovery. The high-profile visit by Obama, a Democrat, in the days before the presidential election drew warm praise from the appreciative Republican governor. Some in Christie’s party claimed his embrace of Obama altered the course of the election.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has already said he plans to ask the federal government for at least $30 billion to help his state in its recovery.
Now the stage is set for a potential battle among the governors, who will be competing for limited federal resources at a time when members of Congress are trying to cut spending. The Federal Emergency Management Agency only has $12 billion in disaster aid, so lawmakers will be asked to provide billions of dollars to meet the needs of the governors, not an easy task in a politically divided capital.
FEMA has estimated that nearly 72,000 homes and business in New Jersey were damaged. An analysis of aerial imagery by the agency showed more than 500 buildings were destroyed outright or reduced to debris, another 5,000 suffered major damaged from flooding or high winds, about 24,000 had minor damage and tens of thousands of others were affected by floodwaters.

SHOUT OUT TO THE REAL DEAD BREEDZ…
There is no other way to put it, but erasing the memory of an entire race of people through distorted history is a systematic way of deceiving and lying to our children. Not only are we presented with biased history, but we are also subjected to an ever-growing culture of capitalism, in which commercialization of an ambiguous holiday merely pulls us away from facts and meaning. Turkeys are associated with “Thanksgiving” in the same way Santa Clause and the Easter bunny have become synonymous with Christmas and Easter, respectively. Through the guise of innocence, capitalism is constantly telling us to consume because consumption equals “happiness.” Tomorrow is not “Black Friday” for nothing.(READ MORE @ http://brokenmystic.wordpress.com/2008/11/27/the-truth-about-thanksgiving-brainwashing-of-the-american-history-textbook/
